Writing my autobiography

Newsflash 8: In the Local Newspaper

By Dirk Jan at December 22, 2022

Progress autobiography

At the moment I have written 7000 words of my autobiography. While it may seem like a lot, it doesn’t feel like it. My goal was to write 50,000 words by the end of this month, but I keep getting distracted. I would like to have a place where I can shut myself off completely, without the influence of the news and other people. But unfortunately I keep getting carried away by things from the outside. I know it’s stupid to think that everything always goes perfectly, but sometimes it can affect my mood and concentration.

The Local Newspaper

I am happy that I will be in the Stadshagen Courant in January with an article about my weekly vlogs. I’ve already read it and it was great fun.

The square team

I read about the square team in a book about leadership by Brené Brown (*1). I found it interesting and it can solve my problem because it can replace my business coach I was looking for.

A square team consists of four people you talk to regularly to help you solve problems you encounter. Choose 4 people from your network. It shouldn’t be people who love you in addition to your shortcomings, but love you for them. It shouldn’t be yes-men, it’s not your slime group. They must be respectful and be able to act vulnerable and with integrity.

Newsflash 7: Dreary Weather

By Dirk Jan at December 8, 2022

Sometimes it all seems to go wrong. In my last vlog (Vlog-TV 25) you could see that our heating and also our washing machine was broken. But that’s not what I mean. I really want to set up a business. I had been given a coach through the UWV. I spoke to her a number of times and it turned out not to be a good match. We were not on the same page.

Now with that wintry weather, cloudy and rain, it’s easier to get gloomy for a while. Fortunately, the gloomy time did not continue and I was quickly over it.

Trans Man

I think life is way too short. I still want to do so many things. A normal lifespan of 70 or 80 years is much too short for me. I came up with this when I was 21 years old. I then started searching the internet. I wanted to be able to back up myself just like I can back up my files on my computer. Of course it’s not possible yet. I did come across an association that believes in technology and the future. They called themselves transhumanists. This appealed to me enormously.

Freezer Man

Part of that group of Dutch transhumanists has united in another group. These wanted to freeze themselves after death in order to preserve their brains and bodies. They then hope to be able to be brought back to life by science when the future is ready. Head in the Sand

So I’ve wanted this for a long time, but for that you have to take out life insurance and I hadn’t arranged that. I think now is the time to take action. Time is ticking and soon it may be too late.

At the time, when I was 21, I encountered a lot of resistance from family and friends. There was no one who really understood or supported me. I don’t like this and I’m sorry. Because if it really works, I won’t see them again in my post-human state. My Startup

Returning to the topic of setting up my own business. Although my business coach has stopped, preparations are progressing slowly, but there is certainly movement. It may also be that I accept a job because something has come my way. But that is not certain yet and I will continue with the preparations.

The best vlog of 2022 (now in 4K)

I think this is my best vlog of 2022! This time the images are razor sharp, because this video was uploaded in 4K. You can enjoy breathtaking waterfalls, infinity pools, lots of snakes, monkeys, Maharashtrian dance and much more all from Wildernest Nature Resort, Goa, India. Vlog-TV 19 showcases this unique location and I’m sure you’ll enjoy it as much as I did.
